Port Arthur Ski Club

Welcome to Port Arthur Ski Club (PASC). We are an alpine ski racing club based at Mount Baldy Ski Area in Thunder Bay, Ontario. We are a not-for-profit community driven organization supporting the development of life-long skiers. We are a member club of Lake Superior Division Alpine (LSDA), Alpine Ontario Alpin (AOA) and Alpine Canada Alpin (ACA).
Our programs are guided by and designed around the ACA long term athlete development model. For further information, please check out the ACA https://ltad.alpinecanada.org
Our coaching staff are certified under ACA Coach Education Program and the Canadian Ski Instructors Alliance (CSIA). We have also embraced the Safe Sport movement. All coaches, volunteers and club board members are trained in “safe sport”. This is a national initiative that crosses all sports.
At the heart of the club are our young athletes. Everything we do is designed to support them in a fun, safe and inclusive manner.
Our Goals
- Promote fitness and fun in the outdoors
- Promote alpine skiing in Thunder Bay as a fun and accessible activity
- Advance each participant’s skiing ability resulting in increased confidence in any terrain
- Build strong turning and carving skills into skiers early in life
- Introduce participants to gate training and ski racing
- Learn and train in a team environment – make lifelong ski friends
- Establish the strongest foundation for performing all types of skiing which gives young athletes opportunities to follow their alpine skiing discipline of choice later in life
- Support athletes who progress into a high performance pathway
